For the first part of this week’s assignment, I contacted six different representatives worldwide through e-mail. I introduced myself and my profession and I indicated my wish to expand my connections and contacts with professionals in the field around the world. I also indicated my desire to learn about the status of children in their country. Two of the six contacts listed were expired e-mails, and I did not receive any responses from the other four. Being unsuccessful to establish contact, I explored the World Forum Organization website and watched their introductory video. I also explored the podcasts listed on the webpage. I will continue my attempts to contact other professionals and hopefully find success.
As for the second part of the assignment, it was rather hard to decide on whether to choose a national or an international organization. I decided to explore the “Center for the Child Care Workforce”. The organization’s mission is to improve the welfare of children by improving the welfare of the early childhood workforce, thus their focus is mostly on the adult taking care of the child as the tool to improving the life of the child. I found that concept appealing and I wanted to learn more about the organization’s efforts in bringing professionalism to the early childhood profession.
Hello Rola,
ReplyDeleteLike you I didn't hear receive any responses to the E-mails I sent out, and it has been a little frustrating. But I will wait patiently, and I'm sure we both will receive some responses soon, I am very optimistic. Like you I choose the option to explore The World Forum organization and their website. I was very impressed with their whole organization, they are doing great work. So that is why I also reached out to some of the people in their organization, hopefully I will also receive some response from one of them real soon. Great post!
